About Us – What are codevegan?

While we want the blog codevegan to focus on the vegan lifestyle, since you’re here, we’re going to tell you a bit about ourselves. Right now, this blog is run by two of us, Mark and Lila. And we’re here to cover everything you want to know about the vegan way of life. That’s right — we cover everything from making that perfect healthy dish through to reviews for food (vegan beer, for example), and so much more.

But, even more importantly, we don’t want it to just be us! Our blog aims to join like-minded people together on our vegan lifestyle journey. Are you interested in all things vegan? Are you a dab hand at creating healthy vegan recipes? Do you want to write about your experience? Then join us!

Together we can open up the world of veganism!

Turning vegan

So, how did this all start? Well, both of us used to be meat-eaters. That’s right, full-blown carnivores. But soon, we started to realize the impact our meat-eating habits had on the environment. And it’s not just meat. Everything from shampoo to household items contains things that are harmful to our world.

Soon, being sustainable took over as we realized doing the least damage possible to our planet was the only way. And that’s where we are today!

Health benefits of the vegan lifestyle

Of course, being vegan is not just about being sustainable. It’s also about promoting a healthier lifestyle for yourself too. By opting for more sustainable items in your diet, you’re actually helping yourself. But how?

Well, transitioning to a vegan way of life can actually help promote weight loss. On top of that, as you move to choose healthier food items, you can actually reduce the risk of heart disease. With lower cholesterol levels, you’ll feel fitter and healthier than ever.

A vegan diet is rich in nutrients that can help to lower blood sugar, thus managing diabetes more effectively. This type of diet has also been shown to lower your chances of getting some types of cancer. Of course, you do need to make sure that you’re getting the right amount of protein, iron, and calcium in your diet — nutrients often lacking in poorly-made vegan diets.

And this is where we come in — we’ll help you create a well-balanced vegan diet.

Taking a look at veganism

As well as discussing our own experiences with the vegan lifestyle, we’re here to answer all your questions about veganism too. If you have any questions at all, just send them over, and we’ll do our best to answer.

We will also be taking the time to review different products from a vegan standpoint too, arming you with all you need to make this transition.

So, without further ado, join in the fun and learn about veganism. We’re here to help out too, so if you have any questions just reach out to us. Alternatively, if you want to get involved, you have a story of your own, or you’d like to write a post on your vegan experiences, we’d love to hear from you!
